Hi
Is anybody able to run planets client in a portable pc without
installing or registering anything on it (USB Key?).

I'm sure that many of you has the same problem ... so I'm confronted
to travel with 2 computers or quit my job (Quit playing VGAP is
absolutely out of the question :-))

Any hint will be appreciated
Cheers

try this

http://planets4.hood-net.org/wiki/index.php/OS
http://planets4.hood-net.org/wiki/index.php/Planets_4_on_a_memory_stick

are you running vista on this pc?

I believe you can play if you simply copied all the files from one
computer to the other, as long as it is in the same directory (c:/
planets4 ---> c:/planets4)
Or you could play on the usb drive, but it tends to load slow, but
once it gets going its not too bad.

Good luck

try these wiki pages for ideas. Or have you already? I don't know if
admin rights would keep you from playing it if you simply copied all
you files to c:/planets4 from another computer with the same
directory. Or simply playing it off of the USB drive might work...
it's a little slow but once it loads it's bearable.
Hope that helps is isn't just info you already knew.

Thanks a lot GK!. It's hapen to me as well... As I'm using the web
interface of the group it take ages to update the message

In any case here are the results:

- Simply copying the planets4 folder to the new computer doesn't work
as it needs registered DLLs (needing admin rights)
- Arylos (from Drewhead) send me a file with all the DLL / OCX ...
putting them in the main folder and vpsys folder and copying
everything in the new computer... IT WORKS! :-)
- I didn't try the wiki link of above because only today I saw the
message. As I'm flying in 2 hours I will test this at my return and
post the results

Cheers
Alejandro
