Hey all,

It's good to be getting back into the game after a 6 year absence. I have
a few questions though if you have the time:

1) It appears that Drewhead has taken over the maintenence of the game
correct? Is there a good website that could summarize what has happened to
the development since Tim's last update in '05?

2) I once owned a reg key, but I've lost it. I am downloading a new copy
of the game, but I still don't have a key, any way to replace that?

Anyway, like I said, it's good to be back. I used to play 3.5 a lot (as
Admiral Kvorak) and am excited about returning the helm.

Thanks for the welcome all. I've spent the last 3 hours reading up on some
of the changes and am completly blown away. The most confusing change that
I've noticed is that it appears that my favorite V3 race completely
re-tooled. The Crystal People are no longer a defensive, trench warfare
race? I used to play them in V3 and I would set out massive defenses and
then sit there and maximize my economy while opponents broke on my webmines
like waves on the shore. Then once the late game phase rolled around, I was
the richest player in the game becuase I had been patient. Apparently the
Crystals now have to expand quickly and constently, capturing space from
others to outrun the damage that they do to their own planets.... True? If
so, what would the best race be for a chess player to play?

Read up on the scalar wave damper and HD stress flipping... don't
worry the Xtals are still #1 (ish?) when it comes to defensive
turtles, and can live quite happily in their own real estate, watch
for glory devices though. Quick way to take away a turtle's shell.

Greetings Kvorak,

I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to play in the For the NEW game on
Drewheads, you joined literally on the last turn!

There's plenty of ways of playing chess... I play chess the same was I
play planets - fast and agressive with a reckless disregard for
losses, so the Stormers suit me well!

It sounds like you are more interested in defensive minded races, so
the Robots might be another race for you to try. The Coalition take a
while to build up as well, and might be worth a peek.
