What if on the client there were a toggle or just a command code that
would have a ship make any waypoint that it has reached go to the back
of the list of current waypoints. Thus it would be possible to set
ships to patrol certain areas, fly in perpetual circles or even do
synchronized swimming. And then you could forget about em, except for
fuel of course...

PAT has been implemented. I have gotten a couple of bug reports on
this, so I wouldn't rely on it just yet.

SHU works, and I use it regularly, PAT I tried once (2 month ago) and
it didn't.
