Com and Growth

this is on a gemeni class ship for CoM i recieved the following
message this turn no FC's are active

Growth (breeding) report: 5 new troops, consuming 0 food.
Training facilities report that 1046 colonists become troops.

im not sure about the new rules, but i have no growth message for
colonists. nor am i indicating any food loss for growth

on a sagitarius with "NOT"( no training) command code i recieved the
following message

Growth (breeding) report: 1 new troop, consuming 4 food.

no colonist growth message here yet it is still training troops .
granted its only 1 troop but why would train anything if i have NOT
command code in place.

furthermore i thought food reduction was for colonists not for troop
training on CoM Vessels.

Please enlighten me,

I didn't test this much because I only added logging. It turned out
to be more complex than I desired, but there it is. Obviously, the
report is missing growth (including backbreeding) for crew and
colonists. The rules haven't changed for CoM breeding. The log just
isn't entirely there. Colonists consume food for breeding. Crew and
Troops backbreed. Backbreeding happens even when NOT is active
because its not training.
